We have had a very busy and beautiful fall. Most days are still in the 60's with a few days hinting of winter. We did have a couple days of snow which quickly melted. Roger and I and our dear friends Andrea, Skip, Helen and Richard are busy preparing the Inn to be a featured home on the Quota Club Holiday Home Tour December 1. Each room is being carefully decorated to produce welcome memories of Christmas some old and some new. It is a joy to work with such dedicated and creative Christmas lovers. The town is decorating for Christmas and all should be up for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Weekend is always festive in Estes. Friday, November 23, 2012 is the Annual Estes Park Christmas Parade. It is so charming and reminiscent of old school Christmas Parades filled with lights, caroling and creativity. It is a person favorite of mine. I highly recommend it to kids of ALL Ages. The Town of Estes Park's 4 th of July fireworks were postponed due to fire burning restrictions. The Fireworks display will be Saturday, November 24, 2012. There is something new this year. The town has constructed an ice skating rink as well as done new construction on Bond Park. The ice skating rink should be open by Thanksgiving.
The local restaurants have begun their winter specials. Yum!! No lines, no waiting and great food.
The imporvements to Bear Lake Road in Rocky Mountain National Park are fabulous. It is now possible to drive up to Bear Lake and Hike rather than take the shuttle. The shuttle is still available to all who would prefer to let someone else do the driving.
The turkeys stop by several times a day. We have seen over 20 at one time. They tend to roost in pine trees behind the Cabin. We have seen the Bobcat a couple of early mornings. Each season brings new animals and beauty.
